All,
Well, Kathy and I stayed up well past our bedtime last night and enjoyed the Texas Rangers finally win the World Series! Congratulations to the whole organization!
The contrast of class demonstrated from the top down as compared to the operation across the street is breathtaking. Ray Davis is an old school owner like Clint Murchison was with the Cowboys. He hired Chris Young and told him to field winners and that is what he has done.
Chris Young, all 6′ 10″ of him, is a commanding presence and has surrounded himself with intelligent and classy people from the office to the ball field. It is such a delight to see the selfless way they operate. Having been a long-suffering Rangers fan since nearly the day they arrived in 1972, watching how this team gelled down the stretch I still had a hard time believing they were finally – FINALLY – going to win it all. Again, congratulations!
For those of you that would like to read a well written Wall Street Journal piece on the game and the team, please click He Won the World Series as a Player—and Now He’s Won It as an Executive and read this article that our subscription allows us to share via a free link. It is a great read.
Enjoy,
Phillip
SO MUCH FUN! 🎉⚾️🎉⚾️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
