And these two were what we were saving for! Maybe there will be some awesome discounted prices announced in 2023 for what’s left of these models.

Leo,
A few months ago we moved an FTM-400 planned for use in our storm shelter to an out building for use as an APRS Gateway/Digipeater. The plan was to buy another FTM-400 next year. Then I saw this notice on another site just yesterday. I looked for some official statement from Yaesu to make a post here and could not find anything official, just those YouTube pieces. But seemingly true, what a disappointment. First Kenwood discontinued the TH-D74 series and now Yaesu discontinuing these; those are some big holes. I have had the sense for several years that the amateur radio manufacturers were coasting and not doing any innovation. Now my sense is that they are easing out of the business altogether. I hope that I am wrong, but this development is not a good one for the hobby…

The Supply Chain situation is affecting everything from toilet paper to high-end very rare metals. We are seeing this in all our work environments, including the lack of sustainable human resources.
I hope to get a FTM-400 soon.
