Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Amateur Radio in and around the Red River Valley Area of Northeast Texas
Today, my HP Desktop just auto-updated to Windows 11 Home, Edition 21H2, OS Build 22000.100, Windows Feature Experience Pack 421.18901.0.3.
After the update I’ve noticed the following that affected a few things:
1. Network Connect Type changed from Private to Public. This turned off Network Discovery and blocked custom internal firewall ports that were open on the Private LAN settings.
2. After changing Network Connection Type back to Public, Network Discovery did not return to normal so I had to turn that back on.
3. Several ICONs updated.
4. Windows that are not Maximized are now rounded on the edges.
5. NordVPN window not showing correctly. Reinstalled to correct.
6. Widgets are back!
7. ScannerCast for Broadcastify was not affected.
8. Radio Software not affected by the update as far as I can tell.
9. Device Drivers for Radio cables not affected as far as I have tested.
10. HP Inc. – Software Component – 1.34.2424.0 update waiting for install now.
11. Microsoft Update revealed that 2021-07 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 11 for x64 (KB5004316) and 2021-02 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version Next and Windows Server Version Next for x64 (KB5001030) were Pending Download. (These were not showing up yesterday before the update.
Just FYI!

Leo,
Wow…that is a lot of change. Thanks for letting us know about this stuff. I have a laptop and four desktops running at all times. I have some “mission critical” software running on all of them and I need to get to backing some of my settings and the the likes up!
Take care,
Phillip
Yay, a whole new BUG- release.
I’m glad I don’t do windows!
