Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Amateur Radio in and around the Red River Valley Area of Northeast Texas
Tagged: RaDAR
RaDAR is Rapid Deployment Amateur Radio conceived by Eddie Leighton ZS6BNE.
RaDAR encourages outdoor operating with a unique challenge: make five contacts and redeploy as fast as possible in four hours.
The RaDAR Challenge has become the RaDAR Rally with some rule tweaks.
“The idea is Increased Activity not only On The Air but Physical activity” – Steve KG5VK
“It also allows one to hone their Portable and or Emergency Operating as in Deployment skills
while having some on the air fun from Multiple Locations within a short amount of time.
Is it for everyone, of course Not. Is it for you, well that is for you to decide.” Steve KG5VK

I was unaware of this program or Operating event, until last night when one of the ARRL NTX Club Officers mentioned it during
one of my Round Table Discussions meeting I host each year.
By the way it was great to see some many new faces in the Zoom meeting last night,
including the RRVARC VP.
Mark, thanks for attending the Zoom meeting last night.
Cheers!
