Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Amateur Radio in and around the Red River Valley Area of Northeast Texas
I have created this to discuss the tornado event of November 4, 2022, as it relates mostly to Amateur Radio and possibly other communications services.
A de-briefing presentation has been suggested at the next club meeting in November.
Please post any comments you may have about the event and any items you may want to discuss.

Charles WA5VHU
All,
As he mentions above, Charles suggested to the Club officers that we delay the APRS presentation planned for the November 19th meeting and instead put together a presentation related to the November 4th tornado event. The officers agreed and Charles and I have been gathering storm data, National Weather Service info-graphics, weather radar beam info, etc., to put together a PowerPoint presentation. The tentative plan is to have a couple of our members, one that was at the EOC and another that was out in the field, narrate it for us at the meeting.
If you have any pictures, APRS screen grabs (we could really use some of those if anyone has any), notes of names of people that you know were involved, please send them to me via email.
Much thanks!

UPDATE:
On Wednesday (November 9) the National Weather Service upgraded the Lamar County tornado to an EF4. Here – …NWS Damage Survey for 11/04/22 Tornado Event Update #3… – is the link to their text message.
