ParticipantWhen in the forum as a logged in member, the person making a post is identified with their thumbnail view and callsign. This is great, but if I click on their photo or callsign, rather than going to their profile, the page takes me to my own profile.

ParticipantJim,
Interesting, I get the same result. OK, Erica will probably see this post, but I’ll make sure and point her to it in case she does not. That is clearly not the way it should be, so thank you for testing it.
I am going to be chatting with her about a number of limitations that seem to relate to the Word Press native forum software. The inability to edit your own post beyond 15 minutes, the requirement for a post to be approved by a moderator…sometimes. Not always, but sometimes. Which I find particularly vexing…but I digress. I also want to see if we can just allow pictures up to a certain size to be uploaded. You cannot imagine the the time I spent earlier today to upload three pictures. Here are the steps I finally had to go through:
Ctl-left click all the pics you want (3), copy and paste them to a working folder. Ctl-A to highlight all, then right click, scroll down and left click send to and then choose mail recipient. Then pick size. Trial and error lead me to “large” and then…nothing. It all went away. WAIT! No, you just have to search for %tmp% and there you will find your reduced images. Copy them to your original working folder and select yes to replace the ones there. Then, only because I am an admin, I can then upload them to the site media location. Then I have a URL to use to publish the pictures in the post. Holy bat $h!tman! Seriously? Yes, the forum stuff is going to need some improvement. We don’t have five members that would have figured that out. I want it to be point and shoot. Want to add a picture? Click the button and insert a picture up to a certain size. Want to edit your post? Sure, but the history shows what you removed or changed so that context is not lost. Can these be done on a WP site? I do not know. I am an idea guy, not a programmer. For these things I need really smart people like Erica and Rick. I will be chatting with them about these things over the next few days.
All, more feedback on the site is very welcome. Thanks again Jim!
Phillip

ParticipantThanks Phillip. I was hoping it wasn’t just something I was doing wrong.
I just noticed on the POTA thread what you were talking about some posts require moderation as my post didn’t show up (possibly pending approval).
Lots of bugs to work out has been the norm since the inception of the ham radio hobby, doubly so with a new website going up as policies are established, tweaked and polished. Thanks to the web team for all the efforts.

ParticipantOops! There doesn’t seem to be a “cancel” button on posts. This was a doubled post, so as a compromise, I just cleared the text

ParticipantIt is fixed. Now when you click on the profile it shows that person’s profile, not yours. If anyone notices any other website bugs please note them here or drop me an email. Thanks! Phillip

ParticipantEd,
I also relabeled this thread Website Bug Reports. I hope you don’t mind. Your post was a bug report and so I thought it would be handy to make it where people could go and let us know about issues that they spot. We are already making tons of changes based on the input we have received. Please let us know if anything does not work correctly. Thanks!
Phillip
