Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Amateur Radio in and around the Red River Valley Area of Northeast Texas
From Club member Wyndell Ferguson (K5WJF)
I have been asked multiple times about what software, etc., I used to log QSOs, connect my ICOM 7300 to a computer and using digital (i.e. FT8, FT4, etc.) and control the 7300 easier. The guide at this link IC7300 Let’s Get Digital is what I use and the order I installed it all on my new computer.
Most important is using the latest USB drivers, Virtual Serial Port software to split or use multiple ports and being sure you have the correct cables to control your rig (USB cable and a CV-I cable).
It can be frustrating so best to take your time and do one thing at a time, then get one more item working and connecting to the rest. K0PIR is a GREAT resource for information and questions!
