KeymasterFellow admins, mods, etc.; if you stumble upon this thread please do not post to it. I want all requests for website modification to flow through me so that I can make sure that Erica’s limits are well respected. Thank you! Please just call, text or email me and we will discuss your item. – Phillip
Erica, we will need to come up with a different way to have this running work list. It is even updating on the home page when I use a non-admin (e.g. Kathy) login:
Priority
1) Jim Vignali and others cannot modify their personal profile. They cannot reset their password, upload a picture or change their contact information. Gary Sorensen was getting a message that his membership was lapsing even though he had paid his dues in cash on April 9th. It was just an accounting coordination issue with me and George. But after I updated him I also deleted his profile picture and told him that I wanted him to log in and try reuploading a profile picture as a test. He too got the error message, but there is another hint about the Form Builder add on. Here is a screen grab:
Update 06/17/2022 @ 1830: Rick and I combined probably spent three hours on this today. Rick made a site back up (and installed Updraft Plus to ease backups and working with downloaded copies of the site offline if I understood it correctly) and then we disabled the simple membership form builder. I then walked Club member Darrell Hancock through resetting his password and adding his phone number. Both “took” and we figured we were on our way. But then I noticed that when looking at another member’s profile there was no picture option and I could not adjust their membership date. So, Rick turned the plug in back on and we are officially stumped… Maybe we should update the plug in? For now we are going to wait and see if you can figure something out.
FIXED, AT LEAST TEMPORARILY 2) Kelly Collins and others complain that they cannot read the login information on the mobile part of the site. It looks like maybe the sub-menu is white font on white background? Scroll down for update.
Update 06/21/2022 @ 0745: Yes, it was white font on white background. Rick and I fiddled around with that and then just changed the menus completely so there is now one hamburger. It is not as elegant as what you had and long-term I’d rather have what you formerly had for non-mobile devices, but if we can’t force the current view to small screens while maintaining the previous view on larger screens then I’d say let’s stick with this cleaner version that suffices for both.
3) I would like to add a search feature to the site.
4) Something has changed about the home page sliders. The three pictures are not uniform and it does not look at good as it once did after your magic touch. If you could please look at that and see if you can easily figure out why, I would appreciate it.

KeymasterOk, I can see this while logged in as a WP admin. I’ll check with my member account as well and see what happens.

KeymasterSuccess! You did it! I can only see this when logged in as an Admin. I do not see it as a normal member so that means others shouldn’t either, unless like you they are a moderator/admin of the forums.

KeymasterOK, cool. They won’t be looking for it so they are unlikely to see it, but on the offhand chance they do I will add a little disclaimer at the top. Thanks for the follow up. I will see now if I can edit that first list (it worked) and add an item and adjust it’s priority.
If not then I will just copy and paste it repeatedly and make adjustments that way. Thanks for the quick reply and thank you again for your help. 🙂-

KeymasterErica,
I have just respectfully asked all the officers and site admins and the likes to please not email or call you with website requests of any type. I asked them to please run them through me and I would add them to the list of priorities and as you had time you would peck away at them. No promises on speed, just a promise that each item would be considered and then added to the list in priority as you and I assign it. My plan is to brief the officers as we make progress so they don’t feel like they are being kept in the dark while insulating you from any unnecessary contact. I appreciate your help and recognize how efficient you are at making changes while also respecting your family life and responsibilities. If you get any direct contact please feel free to punt to me.
Thanks again,
Phillip

KeymasterPhillip,
I think the slider on the front page being wonky may have something to do with the menu and header being changed. Whatever y’all did put it in a semi-mobile mode. Can you tell me what steps were taken to force that menu and get rid of the logo/header menu? I will need to undo that and come at the issue from another angle.
I have updated all of the plugins and there is no update for the member form builder, so that is not the issue. I’ll look through permissions for that just in case it had an update recently and changed some defaults.
Do you know if your hosting uses any kind of caching? I didn’t see anything cpannel, but that’s one of the options for the member form updating being an issue so I’d like to rule it out. We aren’t using any kind of caching plugins on the site, but some hosts have caching built in.
I have submitted a ticket to the plugin author. I saw a thread there where some people had a similar issue when new people join.
