Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Amateur Radio in and around the Red River Valley Area of Northeast Texas
All,
Because of my profession I get an insider perspective on many issues confronting the airline industry. The FAA has struggled for decades to get enough controllers hired and trained so that they become experienced. Inexplicably during one previous administration hiring standards were changed so that people with aviation experience were no longer given credit for that when applying to become an air traffic controller. Instead, DEI credits were applied. So when I see a headline like America Doesn’t Have Enough Air-Traffic Controllers, and That’s a Problem, I would like to know if the washout and retention numbers have subsequently changed at all. There is no mention of these facts in the article. Again, the link above should load up a “free” gift link that the Wall Street Journal provides subscribers for some of their content.
Be safe,
Phillip Beall (W5EBC)
