Yes, RHR has done a great job extending a open hand to Youth
They can afford it, renting time is not for the faint of heart it adds up quickly I have heard.
I have meet many of the RHR Youth participants
in my travels, and we should all be thankful for these youngsters.
The Cowtown ARC has built their Club Station modeled after what RHR does
However, versus renting, paid members are on an access list to use the club station, yes even remotely.
Which more than a few of their members do.
Two Rigs one is a Yaesu FDX5000
The other a FlexRadio 6700
Remote control of Antenna switches as well as beam heading of antennas (Rotor Control)
I have seen it operate on both ends at the club house and at dinner via a laptop after the club meeting
The heart of it is a Raspberry Pi !!!
No more complex than many repeater sites
Cheers!
